Raquel Arellano-Jackson, LCSW
Hi! I'm Raquel (she/her)

I am a Latina (Mexican/Puerto Rican) Licensed Clinical Social Worker, originally from the Inland Empire. Though I have lived in other parts of the United States (Washington DC, Northern California, and Washington State), I have always maintained my ties to this area and was eager to come home to serve others from my community. My passion for collaborating with and caring for others led me to the therapy path.

My practice is guided by client-centered principles, and I place the highest value on my relationship with my clients. I practice primarily from an ACT, CBT, gender-affirming, and trauma-informed perspective, while also incorporating modalities like DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused to help clients make progress toward change.

In addition to my identity as a therapist, I also find joy in parenting my two children, playing with my dogs, spending time in nature, discovering new music, playing piano, reading, finding new coffee shops and bookstores, and advocating for my communities.

My Education

I obtained my Master’s in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley in 2014 and have been practicing since that time. I am also a proud graduate of the University of Redlands, where I received my Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and English Literature, with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies.

My Experience

My career has given me the opportunity to explore many different types of work and populations. My experiences include: providing health education to adults as a case manager; serving as a children’s therapist in community-based settings; providing program supervision in a step-down program for individuals with high acuity behaviors, including eating disorders and suicidal ideation; serving as a high school-based therapist; and most recently, providing clinical supervision to Doctoral and Master’s practicum students, while also offering therapy services in a college counseling center.
